CROPSNet
Background & Aims
The Collaborative Research for Online Postgraduate Studies Network (CROPSNet) emerged from the work undertaken by the Student Wellbeing in IGHI Postgraduate Education (SWIPE) team (Dr Christa Hansen, Dr Annie McKirdy, Joe Kerr, and Julien le Jeune d’Allegeershecque), who have been working to improve the way in which the IGHI support the mental health and general wellbeing of its online students.
CROPSNet aims to bring together professionals involved in online PGT programmes to share best practice, discuss current issues, and collaborate on projects or research ideas to improve the evidence-base for online PGT teaching.
What We Do
Since its launch in early September 2024, CROPSNet has organised an inaugural event which brought together over 30 professionals from a range of different Higher Education institutions in the UK who were involved in the development, delivery, and teaching of online postgraduate programmes. Organising events to provide fora where colleagues can share their learning and meet peers with similar interests and a shared goal of improving online PGT teaching & delivery.
A quarterly newsletter is disseminated to CROPSNet members, highlighting news and events, communicating potential collaborative research opportunities, and putting the spotlight on a publication relevant to online PGT teaching & delivery.
CROPSNet members also have access to a Teams space, which allows them to communicate and build their own networks.
